Mechanically polished concrete is ground, honed, and polished to a mirror like shine without relying on sealers, clear coat, waxes or guards to add shine or reflectivity. However, matte, semi polish and satin polish are also optional finishes. We can provide a range of aggregate exposures, including:
Full exposure – 3-5mm of concrete is diamond ground to show all the underlying aggregate. This is the most recognisable and sophisticated polished concrete floor.
Medium exposure – 2-3mm of concrete is removed to expose a random mix of medium and fine aggregates. A traditional finish combining cost-effectiveness with beautiful random stone exposure.
No exposure – No heavy grinding and no exposure of the aggregates. The floor is honed and polished following the contours of the concrete slab.

Matte, satin or gloss finishes are available but are not as hard-wearing as mechanically polished concrete, and the coating may require reapplication after some years.
